As you plan your trip, remember: Bloomington is in the Eastern Time Zone (ET) and observes daylight saving time. Be aware that the conference takes place in Bloomington, Indiana. (Don’t accidently travel to Bloomington, Illinois!)
By Plane
The Indianapolis National Airport (IND) is the closest airport to Bloomington. Though it is about an hour from our campus, you have several options for traveling. You can borrow a rental cars at the airport. Uber or Lyft available. Please keep in mind that these run at about $60-90 one way. There is a shuttle bus which is priced at $29.00 for each trip between Indianapolis and Bloomington.
By Car
Map your drive to Maxwell Hall (750 E Kirkwood Ave, Bloomington, IN 47405). This is the venue for most of the conference activities including where you will check in on Thursday, June 6. Maxwell Hall is located near the Sample Gates (Kirkwood Ave/S. Indiana Ave). You can pay for temporary/meter street parking and take a short walk to Maxwell Hall to pick up a parking pass (see instructions below) if you paid for one during registration.

IU Guest Parking Permit
You may purchase a temporary university parking permit during your registration or afterward by logging back into your IUWC online registration account and pick it up at check-in. The cost is $15.00. The closest parking garages are: Henderson Parking Garage (310 S. Fess Avenue, Bloomington, IN 47401—about a 7-minute walk) and Atwater Parking Garage (921 E. Atwater Avenue, Bloomington, IN 47401—about a 10-minute walk).

Staying here
Union Street Center
You may also stay in a dormitory at the Union Street Center, located within a walking distance (22-25 minutes) of Maxwell Hall, where most of the conference events will take place. IUWC has a block of rooms reserved at Union Street. The cost is $55.70/Night/Person. This rate includes linen and a pillow. You may add whatever nights you wish to stay and pay for this during the registration process. You may also log back into your registration account to reserve a room and pay after you have registered for the conference.
Bloomington offers many other hotel, Airbnb, and bed-and-breakfast options in the downtown area, which is within walking distance (15 minutes or so) from where most of the conference events will take place.
